Summary

We are in need of more fosterers for cats within East Anglia. Lifeline is a specialist fostering service supporting people who are experiencing domestic abuse.

Detailed description

Cats Protection Lifeline is a specialist fostering service supporting people who are experiencing domestic abuse.

Our wonderful network of volunteer foster carers offer a temporary, loving home to cats, enabling their owners to access safe accommodation until they're ready to be reunited again, living free from abuse.

Cats are placed temporarily into foster carer's homes, and you are supported by our knowledgeable team during the duration of cat fostering, and all expenses are covered by Cats Protection, including food, cat litter, toys, equipment and veterinary expenses.

We are always recruiting for more foster carers across East Anglia - within Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire

Our foster carers enjoy supporting cats and benefit from spending time with cats in their own home; all the while knowing they are supporting an owner to flee to safety, knowing their cat is cared for and comfortable in the home of a foster carer until they are ready to have them home again permanently.

This is a great opportunity for anybody who loves cats, but doesn't feel they can commit to their own cat long-term for whatever reason, whether that is lifestyle or financial reasons for example. The role has a huge impact on helping our organisation support more owners who need our vital service.

Before applying, please make sure you:

  • have no other pets at home (we can’t guarantee your foster cat will like the company of other cats or dogs!). If you have pets that live in a tank or cage, get in touch and we’ll have a chat about whether this could be suitable
  • either own your own property or have written permission from your landlord or housing provider to foster cats

We are always happy to hear from anybody who might be interested in fostering with us. Please reach out if you have any questions.
