Summary

Regular working parties take place every Saturday to restore and preserve the disused Station buildings

Detailed description

Are you interested in helping a dedicated group of volunteers restore and preserve the history and heritage of the disused side of March Railway Station?

A group of us can usually be found down at the station every Saturday from around 10:30am. There are a variety of tasks to be done - weeding, painting, carpentry, etc. If you have a skill or a trade, or just simply want to get involved, come down and say hello, have a coffee and find out more about all the exciting projects we have planned. You don't need to be skilled, just willing to get involved and help us make a difference to your local community.

Getting there

Come down and meet us on Platform 2 at March Railway Station

About Friends Of March Railway Station

The group was formed in August 2009 to restore, preserve and use the buildings on the disused side of March Railway Station. We are currently looking for volunteers to help us with our list of current projects, including the restoration of a G.E.R. 1887 Victorian railway carriage that is being relocated onto the old bay platforms to be used as a tea room.
