Summary

All-school-day event, designed to help students understand and practice the different elements needed to setup one's own business.

Detailed description

Full school day, around 9am-3pm | 11-15 years old (Years 7, 8, 9 & 10)

Work through a set of activities designed to help students work in teams to identify a business need, create a product that would meet this need and build a business plan around the product. They then pitch the idea to the ambassador panel at the end of the day.

The role of an Ambassador in this scenario, is to help small teams within a classroom.

You will support them to work through various pre-planned steps, using your own experience to ask reflective questions and provide guidance. Ultimately, you are helping the students to build an innovative business idea which they can confidently pitch in front of their peers.

Individual Ambassadors, as well as pairs and teams are welcome to join us, as this activity works well in pairs, with two people supporting each class.

Would suit you if you:

  • Have a day’s volunteering available through your workplace and enjoy a bit of healthy competition with your colleagues (who may be supporting a different winning group in another class!)
  • Understand how to initiate, engineer, promote, pitch and/or commercialise a product or service, and tackle the many challenges such projects bring
  • Are a self-starter, entrepreneur, or you run your own business or side project
